Pull up a chair

Welcome and thank you for visiting me here today.  Why don't you pull up a chair, grab a cup of your favorite warm beverage, and dive with me into this interesting world of blogging.

Why a blog, you ask?  Here are three reasons why I'm blogging.

REASON #1:
My husband (Mr. B) says I like to talk: a little too much sometimes (according to him, anyway).  He especially complains of my ability to get off topic and talk about 25 different things in the same sentence. This is a way for me to implement some of the new vocabulary words I have acquired while playing "Words with Friends" without giving my husband a 3 day headache.  For example, just the other day I came across the word CACOPHONY.  At first I was offended by the mere sound of it.  Then, I blushed imagining what it might mean. After all, it sounds an awful lot like the word CACA.  The word CACA alone sends me into a thumb-sucking-fetal-position, but that story will come another day. After trying to use the word in several different sentences without much success, I pulled out my handy dictionary and was relieved to discover it's meaning:

ca·coph·o·ny

  [kuh-kof-uh-nee]  Show IPA
noun, plural ca·coph·o·nies.
1.
harsh discordance of sounddissonance: a cacophony ofhoots, cackles, and wails.
2.
a discordant and meaningless mixture of sounds: thecacophony produced by city traffic at midday.
3.
Music frequent use of discords of a harshness andrelationship difficult to understand.

Of course!  I should know that word well due to the fact that I am a mother and gave birth.... twice.  Mr. B would say he hears cacophonies often, specially in the middle of the night, when a pour innocent woman (me) realizes the seat is up after it's too late.

Oh, dear.  I think I'm off topic again.

REASON #2:
Everyone has a story to tell.  I not only hope to enlighten my readers with personal stories of all kinds, but I also hope to share about those around me on occasion and with their permission, of course.  Everyone's life matters and maybe, just maybe, some of this verbal diarrhea I tend to have might inspire or help someone in their time of need.  Maybe.  The possibilities are as endless as the internet.

REASON #3
I'm avoiding spending so much time on Facebook.  If you are reading this, you probably saw me post a link to this, therefore, making this reason void.

So, I hope you decide to stay a while.  I do appreciate comments or just a message to say hi and let me know you stopped by.  I hope to entertain (laughing is my favorite thing to do). As I've always said:
Laugh and the whole world laughs with you
Fart and you stand alone

Hugs and Kisses,
Mrs. C
